Our Story
I started Four Paws Bakery in 2021, when I found myself unemployed due to the pandemic. I used my time to foster puppies and ended up foster failing one that had crept deep into my heart!
With this new bundle of joy in my life, I wanted to give him the absolute best quality life but also the best quality treats. I decided the ultimate way of knowing what my pup gets, is making it myself. After many attempts and different recipes, I created one that ended up being an absolute winner!
I am thrilled to find myself baking for dogs and cats as a full time career - what better job could there be?!
In 2025, my business went a step further and I started looking after puppies in the week and even had a few opportunities to do overnight boarding! I made an entire set up for a doggy daycare at the back of my house.
In 2026, I started offering puppy training classes and with all these new additions - a decision was made to completely rebrand to include all the new services as well as use the main reason for starting this journey - Jax!
In February 2026, Jax and Friends Co was born and I am so extremely grateful and excited for this bigger and better adventure!

An avid animal lover since an early age, I have always dreamed of giving pets the unconditional love and care they deserve!
When rescuing Jax, an incredible soul who has so much to teach, my life changed for the better and I was able to start changing my life journey into my lifelong dreams.
When I quit my job 3 years ago to pursue this dream, I never thought it would grow into such an amazing venture!
Together, we are able to make other pets happy and to share the love they all so deserve and I am grateful every day!
Jax Pentz

Born in 2021 and rescued from a dire storm in terrible conditons, Jax is thriving every day by keeping his human mom busy and being her number one companion! He accompanies her almost everywhere, ensuring their bond stays strong!
Jax is a mixed breed - Malinois and Border Collie, meaning his energy is never ending...especially with his favourite toy; a ball!
Jax is a seasoned traveller, having been all the way to Pretoria on a roadtrip. His favourite vacation location is Wilderness and he is hoping his mom will move there one day!
Casey Pentz
Cat Treat Taste Quality Controller
Casey, being the queen of the house, is aged 14 and the oldest of the pack. She knows exactly what she wants and does not hesitate to demand it!
She has a very broad pallet and the way to her heart is definitely through her soft tummy!
Casey spends her day asking for food or treats, lounging on the table in the garden and pretending to be an owl in the tree....sometimes on the roof.
Onyx Pentz

Onyx joined our family late in 2024, after many many years of Mamma Pentz yearning for a black cat again!
Onyx is the resident parkour cat, jumping along the walls and leaving his pawprints all over the paint job...and our hearts!
Onyx identifies as a plant, never saying a peep and hanging on the windows like a true house fern.

Sheru - Hindi for Lion!
The most recent addition to the family and almost a year old is the ginger ninja that stole all our hearts. Fostering him since 3 weeks old and doctoring a terrible eye infection, his cat mom could not imagine seeing him leave.
Sheru is the voice of the house, constantly telling anyone who will listen what is on his mind!
He is also the most fussiest eater and will not accept just any treat or food...his approval is the most sought after!

Mamma Pentz is the backbone of this business! Always supportive and always happy to lend an ear or hand!
She will be retiring her job this July after 20 years working in education - after which she will be even more involved with Jax & Friends Co, helping to make it reach even higher levels!
